About this position:

Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for an Associate Engineer/Project Engineer in the Environmental Services Group. This position would initially be based at a lake dredging project in New Market, MD. This position may also work at MES Headquarters in Millersville, MD, and at other field sites in the Baltimore-Metro area. Responsibilities include providing lake dredging contract management and oversight, and engineering project management and support for design, construction, dredging and mitigation projects.

Required qualifications for the Associate Engineer position include: a Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university and 3 years of related engineering experience. The salary range for this classification is $55,000 - $68,000 annually. Required qualifications for the Project Engineer position include: a Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university and 6 years of related engineering experience, 2 of which include project lead/engineering oversight for construction and/or dredging projects. The salary range for this classification is $65,000 - $78,000 annually.

For both classifications, an EIT certification may be substituted for one year of the required experience or a Master's Degree in an Engineering or Management discipline may be substituted for two years of the required experience. Must also have a valid driver's license with less than 5 points.

Preferred qualifications for this position include: Construction contract management experience, as well as strong verbal, technical writing and organizational skills.
