Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for a Project Manager in the Environmental Dredging and Restoration Group. This position would initially be based at a lake dredging project in New Market, MD for a period of approximately two years and will be housed in a field location at the project site. This position may also work at MES Headquarters in Millersville, MD, and at other field sites in the Baltimore-Metro area. Responsibilities include providing contract management, engineering oversight, project management and support for design, permitting, construction, dredging and mitigation projects. Candidate should be able to work independently and effectively interact with public/private sector clients, contractors, vendors and various officials in all levels of local, county and state government.
Required qualifications for this position include: BS degree from an accredited college or university in a recognized area of engineering, environmental sciences, project management, business/finance or related field, plus four years of applicable engineering, waste industry or environmental site assessment and remediation experience or other related field. Two years of this experience must have included managing solid waste, engineering or other technical staff and multi-disciplinary engineering or operations projects, preferably in Maryland. Candidates may substitute additional experience as defined above for the required education at the rate of one year of experience to one year of education, for up to four years of the required education.
Preferred qualifications for this position include: Dredging and/or construction contract management experience, as well as strong verbal, technical writing and organizational skills.
