Maryland Environmental Service (MES) is seeking an entry level Environmental Specialist or an Environmental Specialist Trainee to join the Environmental Services Group at the BWI Marshall Airport field office. Responsibilities include providing support for the environmental science, engineering, and construction activities and services. Activities will be comprised of mostly field work, with some desk activities. Field work may be located around the Baltimore area or at various locations statewide. Projects may focus on stormwater structure inspections and maintenance, UST and AST inspections, sanitary system inspections, aircraft de-icing fluid collection and monitoring, sample collection, oil/water separator inspections and other monitoring and report-writing efforts.
This field office is a designated emergency essential facility, and therefore the ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and during adverse weather conditions may be required. This position requires the ability to obtain a Homeland Security Clearance.
Required qualifications for this position include: Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related field from an accredited college or university. Must have a valid driver’s license with less than 5 points, the ability to lift 50lbs, and the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Preferred qualifications include: UST/AST Certification.
