Governor Lawrence J. Hogan, Jr. was sworn in as the 62nd governor of the State of Maryland on January 21, 2015. In 2018, he was overwhelmingly re-elected to a second four-year term, receiving the most votes of any Maryland gubernatorial candidate, and becoming only the second Republican governor to be re-elected in the 242-year history of the state.

Vice Admiral Walter E. “Ted” Carter, Jr. became the 62nd superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy on July 23, 2014. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1981, was designated a Naval Flight Officer in 1982, and graduated from the Navy Fighter Weapons School, Top Gun, in 1985. He completed the Air Command and Staff College course and the Armed Forces Staff College. In 2001, he completed the Navy’s Nuclear Power Program.

Broadcast journalist Judy Woodruff is the anchor and managing editor of the PBS NewsHour. She has covered politics and other news for more than three decades at CNN, NBC and PBS. In April of 2017, Arizona State University's Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication announced it would be honoring Woodruff and the late Gwen Ifill with the 2017 Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Journalism. When Woodruff and Ifill were announced as co-anchors of the PBS NewsHour in 2013, it marked the first time that an American network broadcast would be coanchored by two women.

Mr. Aunkst has more than 34 years of experience working in environmental and regulatory programs in Pennsylvania in private industry and local and state government. During his tenure at the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (PADEP), which originally began in 1985, he served as Deputy Secretary for Field Operations, Deputy Secretary for Water Programs, Executive Deputy Secretary and as the Acting Secretary for the Agency.

Joann Boughman, a geneticist with more than 30 years of teaching and administrative experience in higher education, is the Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the University System of Maryland (USM). She is also Executive Vice President of the American Society of Human Genetics and a former vice president for academic affairs and dean of the graduate school, at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB). As the USM's Senior Vice Chancellor for academic affairs, Boughman is the senior staff person for the system's Board of Regents Education Policy Committee and Committee on Effectiveness and Efficiency. She also chairs the system-wide Academic Affairs Advisory Council and is the USM liaison on academic issues to the Maryland Higher Education Commission, the state's coordinating board for all segments of higher education. She works closely with the chancellor and the USM institutions on furthering system-wide goals, including closing the student achievement gap, STEM-related initiatives, course redesign and other academic transformation initiatives, research collaboration, student access and affordability, and P-20 programs.

Walter Dinicola has more than 23 years of experience in engineering design in coastal, dredging and waterfront projects. Mr. Dinicola has a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University and has extensive experience on many of State and USACE dredged material management projects, including support for the development of Innovative Reuse and Beneficial Use Program, engineering technical reviewing for the Pilot CAD projects, strategic planning for future DMCF construction and optimizing CDF to extend life cycle. His work experience includes planning and design studies, technical review and evaluations, and project management for a variety of clients, including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), port authorities, state agencies, industry leaders, and private firms.

An ecologist, she focuses on the interconnectivity between different habitats and between humans and habitats.
