The Pollinator Habitat Plan for the Maryland Environmental Service (MES) was developed in response to the 2016 Pollinator Habitat Plan legislation of the Maryland General Assembly, House Bill 132 (HB 132/Ch.614, Section 2, 2016).

This legislation directed three State agencies, MES, Maryland Department of Natural Resources, and Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration, to each establish pollinator habitat plans for properties they own by July 1, 2017.

As required by the plan, MES will be reporting to the General Assembly by January 1, 2018 on the implementation of the MES pollinator habitat plan.
