Featured Project: Freedom District Wastewater Treatment Plant
The MES engineering division recently oversaw the completion of upgrades to the Freedom District wastewater treatment plant in Sykesville. The plant was upgraded to the 5 Stage Bardenpho process, an Enhanced Nutrient Level (ENR) treatment process that removes significantly more nitrogen and phosphorus and prevents these and other pollutants from reaching the Chesapeake Bay. The Freedom Plant is designed to treat 3,500,000 gallons of sewage per day and serves county and State partners in Carroll County.
