Maryland Environmental Service is seeking an Environmental Systems Assistant Regional Supervisor (ESARS) who will be in responsible charge of the daily operations, monitoring and maintenance of water, wastewater and industrial wastewater treatment systems in the Western Region of Maryland.
Requirements for this position include: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a state high school equivalency certificate AND satisfactory completion of four self-study courses and one management course from the California State University, Sacramento (CSUS): 1. The four courses must be acceptable to the Regional Supervisor where the Environmental Systems Assistant Regional Supervisor will be assigned. If all or additional courses are needed to meet this requirement, MES will allow 18 months for the employee to complete the required courses. 2. “Manage for Success,” or an equivalent CSUS management course that is acceptable to the Maryland Environmental Service’s Training Office must also be completed for this position. Must also have 2 years as an Environmental Systems Supervisor with the Maryland Environmental Service, OR 7 years of progressively responsible experience as an operator of water, wastewater or industrial wastewater treatment systems, including at least two years supervising or directing plant personnel.
