The next great adventure for roughly 180 baby terrapins begins! Since last fall, the terrapins have been in school classrooms across Maryland, and now they’re back home in the Chesapeake Bay, having been released in the marshes near where they hatched on Poplar Island—truly a full circle moment. Over two decades ago, the Maryland Port Administration launched the Terrapin Education and Research Partnership (TERP) Program in collaboration with various partners across the state.
