For the better part of the last decade, plans have been underway to replace the aging, 35-plus-year-old wastewater system in Cheltenham. MES’ incredibly talented team of engineers, managers, and inspectors in the Water/Wastewater (W/WW) group worked closely with contractors to oversee the project. The facility serves multiple entities—the youth detention center, a school, Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, an American Legion, and the National Guard. Construction began more than a year ago, and despite harsh winter conditions, it is scheduled to come online this summer. The new treatment plant is designed to treat 45,000 gallons per day but has the capacity to ramp up to 75,000 gallons per day.
