Our team, with the Environmental Dredging and Restoration group, is monitoring the rock reefs for oysters in Poplar Island’s embayment using an underwater drone called “Gladius.” The study is part of a larger effort started by researchers at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to increase oyster populations in Chesapeake Bay. MES’ work is on behalf of the Poplar Project Partners, the Port of Baltimore, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Click here to learn more about this awesome project!
